Soloen fra det kritikerroste stykket Notes on Frailty ble utviklet i tett samarbeid mellom Bjørnsgaard og Schia. Danseren både balanserer og snubler langs den fine linjen mellom menneskelig skjønnhet og skrøpelighet. Fysiske fragmenter, samplet blant annet fra en klassisk 50-talls ikonografi, forskyves og faller tilbake til kroppens hverdagslighet. Dynamikken mellom ulike kvaliteter i bevegelsesmaterialet og det musikalske peker på den kroppslige konstruksjonen av kvinnelighet, og kulturelle forestillinger om kjønn.

Soloen vises 3. og 17. oktober 2021 i utstillingen “Børre Sæthre: The Sound of the Atom Splitting” på Nitja senter for samtidskunst, til nyinnspilt musikk av Christian Wallumrød.

The solo from the critically acclaimed work Notes on Frailty was developed in close collaboration between Bjørnsgaard and Schia. The dancer both balances and stumbles along the fine line between human beauty and fragility. Physical fragments, sampled partly from a classical 1950s iconography, shift and collapse back into the body’s everydayness. The dynamic interplay between different qualities in the movement material and the music points to the bodily construction of femininity and cultural notions of gender.

The solo was presented on 3 and 17 October 2021 in the exhibition Børre Sæthre: The Sound of the Atom Splitting at Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art, with newly recorded music by Christian Wallumrød.
